Electrical Engineer

As a RoviSys Electrical Engineer, you will get your hands dirty and spend time at client’s sites. Description:

  • Design control cabinets that will include:
    • Programmable logic controllers

Electrical Designer

Description:

  • Develop automation control cabinets including, motor starters, variable frequency drives, system rack installations, power supplies, grounding requirements, control wiring and terminations
  • Survey customer sites to determine system component locations
  • Perform site walk downs of electrical control and power systems, process piping, and process instrumentation for updating P&ID’s and designing new equipment

Electrical CAD Technician

As a RoviSys Electrical CAD Technician, you will design electrical control panel layouts, power systems and construction packages. Description:

  • Prepare and modify electrical control panel drawings, layouts and schematics
  • Create Bills of Material (BOM) and assist with selection of components
  • Design control cabinets that will include: PLC systems, power supplies, grounding, analog and discrete control wiring, venting and cooling
  • Size control cabinet breakers, fusing, wiring, overloads, and conduits based on cabinet and field device loads

IT Technician

We are looking for a capable and driven IT professional to join our IT team in building and maintaining the information infrastructure at RoviSys.

Description:

As an IT Technician at RoviSys, you will be assigned a variety of tasks. You may:

  • Provide support to end users on a variety of issues
  • Maintain and monitor system and network operations, including network and data security, software licensing, applications, databases, servers, computers systems, backups, switches, printers, and voice and data networks
  • Computer systems and software purchasing, setup, maintenance, and audits
  • Maintain asset and inventory management
  • Respond to alerts from system monitors; perform first-line problem resolution and technical support
  • Respond to support requests, document issues and resolutions, and update self-support site

Description:

As an IT Specialist at RoviSys, you will be assigned a variety of tasks, including:

  • Audit IT infrastructure and networking at customers’ sites
  • Troubleshoot existing IT infrastructure and networking to identify problems, recommend and implement solutions
  • Design new IT infrastructure and networks for our customers
  • Configure IT infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls

Technician

Description:

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance activities on process instruments such as calibration, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Train other technicians on proper maintenance and repair of instrumentation
  • Enter technical data into Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Assist in drawing development tasks such as Panel Layout, Power Distribution, I/O Connections and Bill of Materials

CAD Technicians will be assigned to work with an experienced engineers and will be put in a position to draw from the experience of other experienced RoviSys CAD technicians. Individual responsibilities will be designated by the lead engineer based on the specific requirements of each project and the individual’s capabilities.

Following is a chronological overview of a typical project and the tasks with which and CAD Technician may assist. Percentages represent the tasks relative effort but will vary from project to project.

Technical Skills (60%)

  • Create/edit any of the drawing types listed above under ‘summary’
  • Investigate technical documentation for hardware application in system design/drawings
  • Create panel layouts and electrical schematics for controls enclosures
  • Self-checking of all work for accuracy
  • Provide technical support for panel fabrication technicians
  • Inspect completed control enclosures

Electrical Design and Configuration (40%)

  • General knowledge of electrical circuitry, NFPA, NEC, and/or IEC codes

Senior Engineer / Senior Controls Specialist

Senior Engineer are responsible for a combination of technical, project management and sales activities. While individuals may gravitate towards either the technical or the management aspect of the role, it is important that all Senior Engineers be competent in the following activities.

Percentages represent the relative time that can be expected during a typical year. These values are estimates and will vary between projects and between individuals.

Team Leadership (20%)

  • Leads multiple project implementations with several different customers
  • Serves as a primary technical contact for RBT
  • Account Management of key strategic customers

Instrumentation and Electrical Design (20%)

  • Develop P&ID's and network architectures per client's RFQ's
  • Design and propose controls hardware appropriate for a project based upon the RFQ
  • Research and select a specific control system beneficial for the type of project

System Design and Configuration (20%)

  • Manages/leads internal functional and quality control testing
  • Manages/leads development of company system documentation standards
  • Manages/leads development of new control algorithms, graphics, and interfaces

Project Management (40%)

  • Responsible for one or more projects as the main commercial point of contact
  • Create & maintain project schedules
  • Define project staffing requirements
  • Draft proposals, change requests and monthly customer invoices as required

Site Manager

Site Manager’s are responsible for overseeing field operations associated with building automation projects. During the construction phase of a project, the Site Manager is an RBT representative to the general contractor as well as other trades. In between project deployments, the Site Manager will assist with new project estimating and systems engineering.

Day to day tasks will be determined by the specific requirements of each project, but following are typical tasks that may be required from a Site Manager. Percentages represent the time per year anticipated for each category.

Team Leadership (10%)

  • Provide technical assistance to RBT commissioning team
  • Serves as a technical point of contact for customers and trades
  • Assist with prioritizing and assigning installation tasks to the trades
  • Participate in commissioning meetings
  • Develop customer and trade relationships

Instrumentation and Electrical Design (20%)

  • Assist with developing instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings & bid specifications
  • Research instrumentation (TTs, PTs, FTs, actuators, etc.) and propose appropriate devices for project
  • Inspect instrument and electrical panel installation to verify completion
  • Identify installation discrepancies

Commissioning Methodology (10%)

Business Development

Business Development is a role where the individual's primary goal is to grow sales within a specific vertical market. Business Development is responsible for developing all aspects of the company's pursuit within the designated vertical market including: marketing strategy, sales strategy, and direct sales pursuit. In addition to marketing and sales activities, the Business Development position is the point of contact for any escalating issues related to a project being implemented within the vertical market.

Qualifications required for this position include:

  • A proven track record in sales and business development
  • Technical and commercial understanding of the vertical market
  • Habitual customer service tendencies
  • High level of self-motivation and strategic thinking
  • Exceptional writing skills

Day to day tasks will be determined by the Business Development's plan for securing business. Following are typical activities with representative percentages for a typical year.s

Strategic Planning & Marketing (20%)

  • Develop a yearly sales forecast for review with senior management
  • Define market sub-segments and appropriate sales strategies for each
  • Establish vendor and partner relationships as required
  • Draft promotional material for print and web
  • Participate in yearly hiring/operations planning

Project Proposals & Estimating (20%)

  • Create instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings & bid specifications
  • Research instrumentation (temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meter, valve actuators, etc.) and select devices appropriate for the project
  • Research and select controls hardware appropriate for the project
  • Compile cost estimates for controls and instrument hardware
  • Estimate RoviSys labor costs
  • Research and solicit bids from subcontractors
  • Draft formal proposal documents
  • Present proposals to customers

Direct Sales (60%)

  • Customer prospecting and sales calls
  • Industry networking via trade groups and conferences
  • Pursue repeat business and long term agreements with customers
  • Establish and maintain relationships with complimentary organizations (A&E, Construction Managers, etc.)
